What is Steerplan?
Steerplan is a money app that reads your bank accounts and answers questions about your money in plain English. It finds your bills, shows what’s due before payday, and forecasts the next 90 days. It’s live in the UK on the web, iPhone and Android.
How do I get started?
Sign up here on the web, or download Steerplan from the App Store or Google Play. Then connect your bank through Open Banking. Most people are set up in a few minutes.
Which banks can I connect?
Over 80 UK banks, building societies and money apps, through Open Banking powered by Yapily. That includes Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest, Santander, Halifax, Nationwide and TSB, plus Monzo, Starling and Chase.
How much does Steerplan cost?
Steerplan is free with one bank connected and a small daily allowance of chat. Steerplan Pro covers every account and the full product for £9.99 a month, after a 7-day free trial. If you subscribed in the app, manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings. If you subscribed on the web, manage or cancel it in Settings.
Using Steerplan
How does the chat work?
Once your accounts are connected, Steerplan reads your transactions, income and bills. Ask a question the way you’d ask a friend, like “Can I afford a £400 flight in November?”, and the answer is worked out from your own numbers.
Can Steerplan make payments?
No. Steerplan is registered for account information only, so it can read your accounts but has no permission to make a payment.
Your data
Is my data safe?
Bank access is read-only, and you approve it inside your own bank’s app, so Steerplan never sees your login. Your data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest, backups included, and travels over TLS 1.2 or later. Your bank access tokens are encrypted a second time with a key only our app holds.

Our systems read your data to work out your bills, your forecast and your answers. A small team can view account data in our admin tools when something needs fixing. We never sell it.
Which AI does Steerplan use?
Chat runs on Anthropic’s Claude, through Anthropic and Amazon Bedrock. Voice notes are transcribed and read aloud by OpenAI. None of them use your data to train their models.
What does FCA-registered mean?
Steerplan Ltd is on the FCA register as a PSD Agent of Yapily Connect Ltd (FRN 827001), an FCA-authorised account information provider. Steerplan provides account information services under Yapily’s authorisation. You can check the entry on the FCA’s public register.

How do I stop Steerplan seeing my bank?
Disconnect the bank in Steerplan, or remove Steerplan in your bank’s app. Either one ends its access.
Can I download my data?
Yes. Go to Settings and choose Export my data to download a copy of what Steerplan holds, under UK GDPR.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings and choose Delete account. Your account and your data are deleted, and Steerplan asks your banks to stop sharing. If you can’t sign in, email support@steerplan.com from the address on your account.
