Delete your account

You can delete your Steerplan account and all of your associated data at any time. This page explains how to do it inside the app, how to request deletion if you no longer have the app installed, and exactly what is removed.
Delete your account in the app
The quickest way to delete your account is from within the Steerplan app:
- Open the Steerplan app and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted.
This permanently deletes your account and all of your data straight away. It cannot be undone.
If you no longer have the app installed
Email us at support@steerplan.com from the email address registered to your Steerplan account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We verify the request and delete your account and associated data within 30 days, and confirm by email once it is done.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove:
- Your profile and account identity (name, email, user ID).
- Your connected bank account data, balances and transactions. We also revoke the Open Banking consent with Yapily Connect Ltd so no further data is shared.
- Your bills, income, outgoings, forecasts and other financial records held in Steerplan.
- Your AI assistant conversation history and any files you uploaded to it.
- Your subscription record within Steerplan. Billing is handled by the App Store or Google Play, so manage or cancel the subscription itself in your store account settings.
We never store your banking login credentials, so there are none to delete.
What we may keep, and for how long
We may retain a limited set of records where we are legally required to, for example to meet anti-money-laundering, tax, accounting or fraud-prevention obligations. Where this applies, the data is kept only for as long as the law requires and is then securely deleted. It is not used for any other purpose.
